Abuse, Incest, Rape, and Related Sexual Violence

Abuse in its many forms including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse inflicts deep and lasting harm on victims, undermining their safety, health, and well-being. Rape is the act of forcing someone to engage in sexual activity without their consent, while incest involves sexual activity between close family members, which is both illegal and deeply damaging. These acts are forms of sexual violence that can cause severe physical injuries, psychological trauma, and social stigma.

Other related issues include sexual exploitation, harassment, and sexual slavery, where individuals are coerced, manipulated, or forced into sexual acts for the benefit of others. Victims often experience fear, shame, and isolation, making it difficult to seek help or justice. Addressing these abuses requires education, awareness, legal protection, and support services to prevent exploitation and to provide care, rehabilitation, and empowerment for survivors.
